Allegany Area Art Alliance

The Allegany Area Art Alliance (variously referred to as the '4As', AAAA or simply the 'Art Alliance') is an informal group of artists and friends from Allegany County and nearby communities in western Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Our goals are:

To educate the community about art and how it's created

To discover and help new artists

To promote our artists through sales and exhibitions

To share ideas and enthusiasm

Through an alliance with the Rocky Gap Lodge and Golf Resort, our members can display their works of art for sale. At any given time we have over 350 works (from 104 exhibiting artists) displayed. "Although anyone can become a member of the Allegany Area Art Alliance in order to exhibit at Rocky Gap a location rule applies.  You must live in a county bordering Allegany County.  Those counties are: Washington, Allegany and Garrett in Maryland.  Mineral, Hampshire and Morgan in West Virginia and Somerset and Bedford in Pennsylvania.

Many of our members have demonstrated their art at various functions and locationsincluding such venues at Lunch With the Arts, local arts council studio tours, Arts Walks, Spruce Forest Artisan Village, Workshops, Art Shows and others.

The Art Alliance awards several scholarships annually to graduating high school students and college students majoring in art as well as practicing artists.  For information about these scholarships click HERE.

Please browse our site. You'll find lots of information on our artists, photos of their work, information about coming events, and ... hopefully ... inspiration to join and help!
